2018 Cincinnati Bengals mock draft database: tracking every selection

In 2016, I tracked more than 100 mock drafts leading up to the NFL Draft and zero correctly predicted Houston cornerback William Jackson to the Bengals. In 2017, I tracked just about the same number and three had Washington wide receiver John Ross going to the Bengals in Round 1.

This year, things are a bit different because the Bengals made a mid-March trade that pushed the team from pick No. 12 to pick No. 21. So, in 2018 we are only tracking mock drafts that came after the Bengals’ trade for Cordy Glenn, which was on March 12.

Offensive linemen and linebackers are the most popular positions you’ll find with a sprinkling of defensive tackles in the mix, too. Defensive tackle was actually a more popular pick in the mock drafts before the Cordy Glenn trade as Vita Vea was the big name for the Bengals. Now, Vea is expected to be off-the-board and Da’Ron Payne is a more popular name in the mocks to the Bengals.

In the last week, James Daniels has become an increasingly popular pick for the Bengals, potentially due to his recent visit to Cincinnati. With draft week here, we have two new names added to the tracker, too, including a quarterback.

As of April 24, Dave Lapham has made his draft prediction for the Bengals, which is that the team will select Arkansas center Frank Ragnow in the draft. With that out of the way, expect more mocks to go toward Ragnow, who had only been on my tracker three times prior to Lapham’s announcement.

Alert, alert! At 11:45 p.m. ET on Wednesday night with less than 24 hours to go before the draft, I’ve added a new name and the first cornerback on the tracker! It’s Iowa’s Josh Jackson, a name I mentioned today as someone who is in play for the pick. And, never count the Bengals out for a first round cornerback.

On Thursday, DRAFT DAY (!!!!) pretty much every addition to the tracker is Ragnow.
