Offensive linemen outside of top tier for Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals offense was putrid in 2017 finishing last in the league in yards per game. There are plenty of areas to blame but the biggest area of need for upgrades in this draft is the offensive line. Cincinnati has already moved back to the 21st pick in the trade landing left tackle Cordy Glenn from the Buffalo Bills but there is still improvement needed.

History of the Bengals drafting No. 21
Should the Cincinnati Bengals sit tight and not trade out of their current first-round position on Thursday night at No. 21 overall, it will mark the fifth time in franchise history that they are selecting a player at that spot. The results have varied, from two Pro Bowlers who battled injury to a role player to a selection that has yet to live up to expectation.

Sam Darnold: From turnovers to turning around the Browns?
USC quarterback Sam Darnold was so shy as a preschooler that his mom, Chris, had a teacher and friend assess him before kindergarten. Turns out, he was the strong, silent type, just like his maternal grandfather Dick Hammer. Hammer, who died in 1999 at the age of 69, played on USC's last Final Four basketball team in 1954, and played volleyball in the 1964 Olympics.
