After playing at Ohio State University, Austintown, Ohio native Billy Price got the phone call on night one of the 2018 NFL Draft that would change his life.

Price was selected by the Bengals as the heir apparent to the center throne, following Russell Bodine’s offseason deparure. Following the selection, Price had lots to say about getting to play for the Bengals and how excited he is to call Cincinnati home.

“I didn’t think the moment was real,” Price said. “I looked at my agent and said, “Holt shit, it’s Cincinnati... This is exactly what I wanted, to stay in Ohio and bring the Ohio State brand to Cincinnati.”

Price has started both at guard and center for the Ohio State Buckeyes and was actually the AP Division 1 co-defensive player of the year his senior year of high school before switching over to offensive line at Ohio State.

In 2017, Price won the Rimington Trophy as the best center in the nation, and in his senior year, tied Pat Elflein’s record for 55 straight starts at OSU. However, with his current injury, Price will need another two months before he will be ready for football action. Still, he is expected to be ready for training camp and should start for the Bengals in 2018.

It’s great to see the Bengals got a guy who truly wants to be here. While many prospects act like they want to go to the team that picks them, Price’s reaction to the Bengals taking him feels genuine. This is where he really wanted to be, and the Bengals really wanted him to be their center of the future. Price will be introduced to the Bengals media tomorrow afternoon and we can’t wait to hear more from him!

What do you think of Price’s reaction to being drafted to the Bengals?
