With the 77th pick in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Sam Hubbard. Seconds later with the 78th pick in the third round, the Bengals selected Malik Jefferson.
Both players should upgrade the Bengals’ defense and be nice new toys for defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
The 6’4”, 240 pound Jefferson spent three years at Texas where he accumulated 231 tackles, 26.0 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 5 passes defensed, 1 fumble recovery that went for a touchdown and 2 forced fumbles.
Hubbard, who the Bengals had in for a pre-draft visit is a Bengals fan! He grew up in Cincinnati and attended Ohio State. He brings the Bengals their second OSU player in two days. Hubbard stands at 6’5”, 265 pounds and accumulated 116 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, 1 interception, 3 passes defensed, 1 fumble recovery and 3 forced fumbles in college.
How do you grade these picks for the Bengals? Are you happy with the team’s third round haul?
