The Bengals already have a draft class that they should expect a lot out of in 2018, but they still have seven picks left for Day 3. That includes one fourth round pick, three fifth round picks and three seventh round picks. Could the Bengals package some of those picks to move up to pick a few more of these guys?
There are still many talented football players available, maybe the most well known of whom is Maurice Hurst, the defensive lineman out of Michigan who was diagnosed with a heart condition at the NFL Scouting Combine. It’s just a sad story that he’s still available as teams are concerned about his long-term and short-term health.

The Bengals have obviously done a great job at filling needs without reaching too far. So far the team has addressed center, safety, defensive end and linebacker. The Bengals still have positions they’d like to take players at based off of their visits and meetings with teams.
One of the most obvious positions the team still needs a player at is offensive line. Ideally, right guard needs to be addressed. However the remaining list doesn’t seem like it would be much of an upgrade over Trey Hopkins. The top guys are Wyatt Teller and Taylor Hearn. The Bengals may be eyeing one of the remaining tackles in Tyrell Crosby and Jamarco Jones. Both of whom were viewed as Day 2 picks.
Of course the best value based on the board is at defensive tackle. The Bengals are looking for a running mate for Geno Atkins in the middle and a guy like Tim Settle is just waiting there to be scooped up. He is the best available player outside of Hurst. Although Hurst may be waiting awhile to hear his name as it seems most teams are scared off due to his heart issue.
The Bengals have also been interested in receivers around this area. Equanimeous St. Brown is currently the best available receiver, but it is a matter of if he will be around long enough for the Bengals to grab him. The only other receiver remaining who was expected to be a Day 2 pick was Deon Cain.
Of course the Bengals still would like to add a backup quarterback after spending a ton of man power scouting possible Day 3 guys. However, the guy they scouted most isn’t even in the top 150 prospects. Kyle Lauletta is a guy the Bengals haven’t really hid their interest in. They went to his pro day and even held a private work out with him. I would say for all the people looking for a quarterback in this draft, he is your most likely guy. But, the Bengals could leave the draft without a quarterback, too.
The only other position the Bengals could really use a guy at is cornerback. Of course they are set in 2018 with guys like William Jackson, Dre Kirkpatric and Darqueze Dennard, but with Dennard’s contract ending they may be looking for his possible replacement. There was a huge run on corner during Day 2, and the only one in the top 100 left is Nick Nelson. There are a handful of guys right outside of that though in Holton Hilll and Kevin Toliver who could be fine additions to the Bengals’ secondary, especially with the benefit of a year to learn.
