The Bengals have announced the list of 10 college free agents, also known as undrafted free agents, who the team has signed for the 2018 NFL offseason.

These players will compete for a spot on the 53-man roster this year and hope to rise to the occasion like many former undrafted players have done with the Bengals in past years. The Bengals currently have a number of undrafted guys on the roster including linebacker Vontaze Burfict, linebacker Vincent Rey, wide receiver Alex Erickson, linebacker Brandon Bell, linebacker Hardy Nickerson and fullback Ryan Hewitt.

Linebackers, as you can see, have been some of the most successful undrafted players for the Bengals.

One of the flashier names on the list is former USF quarterback Quinton Flowers who the team converting to running back. He was a playmaker in college, racking up 8,124 passing yards and 71 touchdowns in four seasons at USF, three as a starter. He had a 57.7 completion percentage in that span. He also added 3,672 rushing yards and 41 rushing touchdowns, demonstrating his playmaking ability. The Bengals expressed interest in Flowers at his pro day, which wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell and running backs coach Kyle Caskey attended.

Ohio State linebacker Chris Worley is another name Bengals fans might recognize as he comes to Cincinnati from Columbus, joining first round pick Billy Price and third round pick Sam Hubbard. You can read our pre-draft scouting report on Worley here.

Another name of note is Old Dominion running back Ray Lawry, who talked to me about his journey to the NFL prior to the draft.

“I’m a playmaker, I’m able to make plays with the ball in my hand and I can play against almost anyone,” Lawry said. “I have been preparing for this my whole life. It was always a dream of mine to make it to the NFL. I’ve always been ready and now it’s finally here. It’s a blessing and I’m taking it all in and trying to get better.”
