Cincinnati sent Buffalo to the playoffs at the end of last season, resulting in some fun charity donations. Buffalo wound up getting former Bengals like Russell Bodine and AJ McCarron, while the Bengals traded for Cordy Glenn and signed Preston Brown.

The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t made the playoffs since 2015, hitting on a drought finally mediocre enough to encourage some changes. While the biggest potential change — Marvin Lewis — didn’t happen, some of the uncharacteristically aggressive moves from the organization could have the Bengals competing for the AFC North once again.

Bengals 2017 Season in Review: Week 4
Week 4 was an absolute must-win for the Bengals. A Week 3 win against Green Bay would have been nice, but beating Cleveland in Week 4 was the only option. If the Bengals had dropped their fourth straight game to the Browns, it would have set off pandemonium in Cincinnati. Fortunately, the team carried the momentum from their near Packers victory and demolished the Browns. The result wasn’t surprising, but it left the ever-so-slightest window of opportunity open for the Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals have been pretty close to the playoffs the last couple of years. Well, maddeningly close. OK, knife-throwing-act-at-the-circus close.
