The Orange and Black Insider Bengals podcast: Practice makes permanent

Do the Bengals have what it takes to really win the Super Bowl? What battles should we be watching and which surprising players might be shown the door? Anthony Cosenza, John Sheeran and Scott Schulze discuss this and all things training camp this week.

Training camp is here and what better way to kick it off with our Bengals podcast. Cincy Jungle’s John Sheeran and Scott Schulze joined me on the most recent episode as we buckle up for what promises to be an intense camp, chock-full of storylines.

We talked about a few early headlines this week, as the Bengals take the field for training camp this week.

  • Mike Brown made some interesting comments about the NFL’s “kneeling issue” and his relationship with Marvin Lewis. We talk about his quotes from the 2018 training camp kickoff luncheon.
  • Marvin Lewis believes this Bengals team can win the Super Bowl this year. Was it merely “coach-speak”, or did he see the right changes on the horizon, prompting him to sign another contract this offseason?
  • What are some of the most interesting and most important training camp battles to watch this year?
  • If the Bengals had a hypothetical contract holdout situation a la the Falcons with Julio Jones, whose side would you be on—the player or the team?

Those topics, plus some other great listener questions were on tap this week.
