Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Auden Tate was carted off the field during Wednesday’s training camp practice, per Jim Osczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
UPDATE: Tate is in the concussion protocol after hitting his head on the ground in one-on-one drills, according to Bengals.com.
The seventh round pick has been having an incredible training camp, making impressive plays on a very regular basis. He has probably been the most talked about rookie outside of first round pick Billy Price.
The Bengals’ seventh round picks are not having good luck with injuries. Quarterback Logan Woodside has not practiced in several days with an undisclosed injury. Guard Rod Taylor tore his ACL on the first day of camp. And now Tate seems to be injured, too.
Hopefully Tate was just taken inside as precaution. Injuries during training camp are always treated over-cautiously.
We’ll keep you updated as more information on Tate’s status becomes available.
UPDATE: Tate’s dad says his son “is fine.”
He is fine. I just spoke to him.
