After not finishing practice last Saturday, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was also held out of Bengals practice on Monday.

Saturday’s practice was stopped halfway due to inclement weather, but was later resumed inside Paul Brown Stadium. Upon practice resuming, Kirkpatrick was seen on the sideline in street clothes. Kirkpatrick’s injury and its severity is currently undisclosed, so his absence today could either be precautionary or mandatory.
Earlier in training camp, the defense watched as both Tony McRae and Sojourn Shelton go down with injuries that have kept them out of action up to this date. Cornerback C.J. Goodwin was brought in to alleviate the sudden lack of depth at the position, and now they’re one starter short at this moment.
Darqueze Dennard is the primary backup at cornerback, and KeiVarae Russell is behind him as well. It should be interesting who lines up where in Kirkpatrick’s absence.
The good news is Josh Malone was back at practice on Monday. He too was seen in street clothes for the second half of practice on Saturday, so it looks like his issue was very minor.
At linebacker, Vincent Rey is recuperating from a sprained ankle he suffered from last Thursday night’s preseason opener by having to move around with the help of a scooter.
Vinny Rey, who Marvin Lewis said has an ankle sprain, has to ride the dreaded scooter for now, probably as a precaution to keep him off his feet. He was in the locker room earlier riding around with just tape on his ankle. No brace or cast.

With nothing but tape on the ankle in question, Rey’s sprain doesn’t appear to be serious, and the scooter is to help take the stress off from walking.
Rey is the backup to Nick Vigil at SAM linebacker, so second-year player Brandon Bell should be working in that spot for now.
