The Bengals have lost Davontae Harris to a knee injury.
It happened in the second quarter of Cincinnati’s preseason game vs. the Cowboys, as Harris was injured on special teams late in the quarter. He was able to walk off the field and be examined by trainers, and the team quickly announced he was out for the rest of the game with a knee injury.
That’s usually a bad sign, and it’s the last thing Harris needs is a serious injury. He’s already in a tight roster battle with Josh Shaw, Keivarae Russell and Darius Phillips for one of the final cornerback spots.
Harris was a fifth-round pick out of Illinois State in the 2018 NFL Draft. He’s been relatively quiet in OTAs, training camp and the preseason. He needed a good showing tonight, and instead, he got knocked out early with a potentially major injury.
We’ll keep you posted if any more details come out.
