Carlos Dunlap received a three-year contract extension worth $45 million on Tuesday. His extension came quickly after the Bengals also extended fellow defensive lineman Geno Atkins to a four-year extension worth $65.3 million. Needless to say, Dunlap was ecstatic to secure a future with the Bengals.
“Back to back,” Dunlap wrote on Instagram with a money-symbol smiley face emoji.
Obviously the back-to-back is referring to just how quickly the Bengals locked up both of their veteran Pro Bowl defensive lineman. Dunlap has always been a great person to have on the Bengals’ roster. He is a great emotional leader for this team, and he has done an incredible job of giving back with his foundation.
Dunlap has played 118 games with 81 starts in Cincinnati. He’s made 249 tackles, 64.5 sacks, 42 passes defensed, 16 forced fumbles, 8 fumble recoveries (1 for a touchdown) and 2 interceptions in his time with the Bengals, which includes nine, going on 10 NFL seasons.
I think we can all let out a collective Who Dey for having Dunlap in stripes through the 2021 NFL season.

They made the right choice, easily! I only wish they could’ve gotten Dunlap’s done even quicker after Atkins.

I would’ve been okay with letting both walk in free agency, AKA I’m a Steelers fan.
