Coming into tonight, Cethan Carter was viewed as very likely to make the 53-man roster.
Now, that’s at risk after Carter was forced from tonight’s game vs. the Colts due to injury. In the middle of the second quarter, Carter suffered a shoulder injury and went to the sideline while holding his arm.
Not long after, the team announced that Carter was out for the rest of the game, a bad sign that it may be serious. If it is, it could cost Carter his spot on the 53-man roster. If it’s bad enough, he could land on injured reserve and remain a member of the Bengals.
Carter made the team as a rookie in 2017 and was a mainstay on special teams, which is where his real value is. He did get occasional targets, but he’s never done much on offense.
We will keep you posted on this if anything new comes up.
