Trayvon Henderson’s rookie season is in jeopardy before it even begins.
The undrafted free agent out of Hawaii was vying for a spot on the Bengals’ 53-man roster, and he helped those odds with what looked like a game-clinching interception against the Colts in the preseason finale.
But as Henderson caught the ball and started to run, he tried to plant his leg and cut back. But on the cutback, Henderson came up awkwardly and then hit the ground in obvious pain. Trainers immediately came out to examine him before he was eventually carted off the field.
It looks like a serious injury, which will probably kill Henderson’s hopes of making the final roster. Even if it’s not serious enough to end his season, he won’t be on the normal roster. The team may placed him on season-ending injured reserve if it’s bad enough.
We’ll keep you posted as more details come out.
