One of the more heated battles on the Bengals roster has been decided.
Tra Carson has won the fourth running back spot over Brian Hill. That means the Bengals are moving forward with Joe Mixon, Giovani Bernard, rookie Mark Walton and Carson at running back.
Tra Carson beat out Brian Hill for the #Bengals final running back spot, per source. Both played really well in battle for that last spot.

The Bengals will try to get Hill on the practice squad, if he doesn’t get claimed on waivers.
Carson and Hill have been the two most productive running backs the Bengals have had this preseason. Carson’s 77 rushing yards on 20 carries and put him just behind Hill’s 87 yards on 17 carries, but Carson had two rushing touchdowns to his name as well. Hill was also the more efficient receiver out of the backfield, accumulating 70 yards and a score compared to Carson’s 44 yards on his six receptions.
Carson is in his third year in the league since joining the Bengals following the 2016 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent from Texas A&M. He spent nearly all of that season on the practice squad, and spent all of 2017 on Injured/Reserve.
