The Bengals may be without their starting center after Billy Price went down against the Ravens.

It happened on a run late in the first quarter in which he appeared to have his foot stepped on. He was down after the play before trainers came out on the field to examine him. He eventually got up and walked gingerly to the sideline for further testing.

The team has now announced that Price has an ankle injury and is questionable to return. With him out, Trey Hopkins is now the center. He had been in a battle for the right guard spot he ultimately lost to Alex Redmond, but part of that was because the Bengals wanted Hopkins ready to come off the bench to play right guard or center. There is no one else on the roster who’s gotten significant snaps at center in the NFL.

For now, Price is in the locker room. We’ll update this post as more details come out.

UPDATE: When the Bengals came back onto the field after halftime, Price was ruled out for the rest of the game. He was later seen on the sidelines in a walking boot.
