Bengals’ Super Bowl odds rise after 2-0 start

The Bengals are getting a little more respect following back-to-back wins to open the year.

The Bengals have been one of the NFL’s surprise teams through the first two weeks.

Not many expected the Bengals to be 2-0 at this point, especially oddsmakers, who had the Bengals listed as underdogs in each of their first two wins. But the Bengals continue to prove their doubters wrong, and the oddsmakers are taking notice...sort of.

Ahead of Week 3, the Bengals now have the 16th-best odds to win the Super Bowl:

Sure, 16th-best doesn’t sound particularly great, but it’s a huge improvement from where the Bengals have been at various points since the 2018 offseason began. They’ve gotten pretty close to having the worst odds at time, so just climbing to No. 16 is a big improvement, and it shows just how far the Bengals have already come just two weeks into the season.

Of course, the Bengals don’t want to settle for this, and neither does the fanbase. Having the 16th-best odds will mean you probably have a 50-50 shot of making the playoffs. You want that number to keep rising throughout the season, which will signal the Bengals are getting closer to a playoff berth.

At 2-0, they’re off to a good start, but they probably need to win at least eight more games to feel good about clinching a playoff berth. It is nice to be a fifth of the way there after just two games with 14 left to be played.
