When Joe Mixon had arthroscopic knee surgery, the belief was he would be sidelined for 2-4 weeks.
But earlier this week, Mixon said he felt great and his return to game action would ultimately be his call.
Based on what happened Friday, that could be sooner rather than later, as Mixon was able to get in a nice workout on the rehad field:

When a player is recovering from injury, they usually spend several days of practice on the rehab field before returning to action, depending on the severity of the injury. The fact that Mixon is already on the rehab field after having surgery less than a week ago is a good sign that he’s progressing nicely.
I don’t think Mixon will be healthy enough to play in Week 4 against the Falcons, but a Week 5 return against the Dolphins now looks very realistic. If this surgery ultimately costs Mixon just two games, then it will be a huge win for him and the Bengals, all things considered.
Update: Mixon was dancing around and having some fun, entertaining Dre Kirkpatrick while the cornerback was in the cold tub today.
