Update: Kroft returned to the game and made his first catch in the fourth quarter with the Bengals trailing by seven.
Bengals tight end Tyler Kroft hasn’t shown up on the box score yet today, but he was taken off the field before the Bengals crawled back to within a touchdown against the Panthers in the third quarter of Sunday’s game. He went to a knee following a running play. It was a strange circumstance as he wasn’t in a pile of players, but he was instead away from the play.
Unfortunately Kroft isn’t the only injury to update you on.
Defensive tackle Andrew Billings also was taken off the field with an injury and defensive end Carl Lawson also got hurt, but his forecast seems to be more positive.
#Bengals DE Carl Lawson has a facial laceration and return is probable

That is good news as the Bengals have struggled to get any pressure on Cam Newton even with their star young pass rushers. If the Bengals were to lose Lawson things could get very bad.
Prior to Kroft’s injury, A.J. Green had been sidelined with a groin injury. He was originally ruled probable to return but was then downgraded to questionable and it doesn’t really seem like he’s going to return.
We’ll keep this post updated as more details become available on the injured Bengals. The Bengals are currently down 28-21 in the third quarter.
