Finally, real NFL football is set to return to our lives.
No, I’m not talking about the preseason of backups and practice squad players fighting for their NFL lives. I’m talking about the real Cincinnati Bengals taking on the real Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season.
We haven’t seen the real Colts in quite some time, as injuries kept star quarterback Andrew Luck off the field for all of 2017. Luck ‘is’ the franchise, and he’ll be back starting in Week 1 when they host the Bengals.
Cincinnati is looking to rebound from back-to-back losing seasons and get back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season. There’s a lot of optimism surrounding this team, at least within the Queen City, thanks to a talented and deep roster that features Geno Atkins, A.J. Green, William Jackson, Carlos Dunlap, Carl Lawson and John Ross.
