Bengals LT Andre Smith suffers ankle injury

Injuries have crushed the Bengals offensive line this season, with Andre Smith being a victim on multiple occasions. Today is no different.

Smith left the game at the beginning of the third quarter with an ankle injury and was initially listed as questionable to return.

However, the Bengals have now ruled Smith out, which is a bad sign.

Smith had been dealing with a hamstring injury the last couple of weeks but has yet to miss a game. Back in Week 2, he was replaced by John Jerry due to injury, and that is the case again today. Jerry is a natural guard now playing out of position.

Smith had been playing decent considering his talent level compared to the Cardinals’ talented edge rushers. If Smith can’t return, it would mean Billy Price would be the lone backup left on the bench for Cincinnati.

The Bengals’ offensive line has been holding up much better this week compared to last, when they allowed eight sacks to the Steelers. Hopefully this continues without Smith.
