The Bengals have listed two players out and another will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.
A.J. Green (ankle) and Renell Wren (hip) will not be playing. Green still hasn’t practiced in over a month and is still not 100% ready to make his 2019 debut. Wren suffered a non-contact hip injury during Wednesday’s practice and missed practice today and yesterday because of it. The Bengals placed Wren on the Reserve/Injured list today, taking the rookie out of commission for the final two games as well.
Wren was getting more and more involved in the Bengals’ defense as the season progressed and their scheme allowed more opportunities for Wren to get on the field earlier in the game. He’ll finish his rookie season with four solo tackles on 154 defensive snaps in 11 games played.
While Green and Wren have been declared out, Darqueze Dennard (illness) is listed as questionable. Dennard got his standard rest day on Wednesday and practiced in full on Thursday. His illness forced him to miss practice today, but the team seems hopeful he can suit up on Sunday.
On a more positive note, both Sam Hubbard (knee) and John Ross III (foot) had full practices today and both will be ready to go this week. Hubbard missed last week’s game against the Browns and was limited for the first two practices this week. Ross was limited for Wednesday’s practice but has practiced in full today and on Thursday.
The Patriots don’t have anyone listed as out or doubtful, but several key players are questionable, including wide receivers Julian Edelman and Mohamed Sanu, as well as center Ted Karras, cornerback Jason McCourty, and defensive tackle Danny Shelton.
