The Cincinnati Bengals have claimed linebacker Sharif Finch off of waivers from the Tennessee Titans. In a corresponding move, the team placed wide receiver A.J. Green on injured reserve, a move head coach Zac Taylor announced earlier in the day.

Finch (6-4, 250), a second-year player out of Temple University, originally was a college free agent signee of the Titans in 2018. He has played in 23 games (three starts) for Tennessee over the past two seasons, recording 35 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery on defense. He also had nine special teams tackles over that span.

Green, a ninth-year veteran, has been rehabbing from an ankle injury suffered in the first practice of training camp. Despite not playing at all this year, Green still ranks second in team history in receptions (602) and receiving yards (8907). He is also the Bengals’ all-time leader in 100-yard receiving games (33).

Green is also the only NFL receiver since the 1970 merger to start his career with seven consecutive Pro Bowl nominations (2011-17). His seven Pro Bowl selections are third in Bengals history, behind Pro Football Hall of Fame tackle Anthony Munoz (11) and defensive tackle Geno Atkins (eight).
