In the final seconds of the Cincinnati Bengals’ second win of the season, Joe Mixon could hardly contain his excitement.
Just ask this poor referee, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

After Andy Dalton’s second and final kneel of the last drive, Mixon was about to throw his helmet towards the Bengals’ sideline for the equipment people to take. Little did he know the back judge was trying to get off of the field before the crowds of players and media filled it.
The helmet clipped the back of the official’s legs and he proceed to fall on his back like he ran through some oily banana peels. Unfortunately, it seems as if he fell on Mixon’s helmet as well.
After the game, Mixon offered his condolences to the official, who appeared to be in pain following the incident.
Joe Mixon says, “I’m sorry ref. I owe you lunch.”

Nobody understands how ridiculously fast NFL players move in person better than referees, but even they forget to have their head on a swivel from time to time, as did Mixon here. Hopefully he wasn’t hurt too bad so he can take up Mixon’s offer with a laugh.
