Grantham interviews with the Bengals after the team interviewed Los Angeles Rams cornerbacks coach Aubrey Pleasant for the same position a few days ago.
After reports surfaced claiming Jack Del Rio and Dom Capers as the top candidates, both coaches backed out of from the opportunity, opening the door for Grantham and Pleasant, as well as ex-Falcons DC Marquand Manuel, Texas A&M DC Mike Elko and Saints defensive backs coach Aaron Glenn.
Unlike Pleasant, Grantham has no ties to Taylor or anyone on the Bengals’ current staff. He is a coach of 29 years at the professional and collegiate level. He’s been a defensive coordinator for four schools for the past nine seasons and last coached in the NFL in 2009, when he was the defensive line coach for the Dallas Cowboys.
