When a team gets a new head coach, it often comes with sweeping chances across the organization.
Apparently, that may be the case with Zac Taylor and the Cincinnati Bengals, who are reportedly looking to trade John Ross, according to multiple media reports.
Sources tell me the Cincinnati Bengals are hoping to trade receiver John Ross and will field offers during the combine. We'll have more tonight during our podcast.— Tony Pauline (@TonyPauline) February 26, 2019
Two years ago, top WR prospect John Ross set fire to the Combine with his 40 time. Now, sources say the #Bengals are shopping their former first rounder. A fresh start would be welcome by both parties, sounds like.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 26, 2019
Ross just finished up his second season with the Bengals, which was another relatively forgettable campaign. Though to be fair, Ross played with a battered offensive line and Andy Dalton under constant pressure, then got hurt and missed the final six games of the season. That led to Ross catching passes from Jeff Driskel and being unable to make much of an impact.
It seems like it would be a bad move to give up on Ross this soon, especially since his stock is so low and they may get a fourth-round pick at best for him right now. But if there are other issues with Ross that bleed into the locker room, perhaps it is time for a fresh start for everyone.
