Zac Taylor is wasting no time in finding who will be on his staff with the Bengals.
Not long after Taylor was hired as the team’s next coach, Field Yates of ESPN reported that Houston Cougars tight ends coach James Casey was joining Taylor’s staff. The team is also hiring Ben Martin, an offensive line coach from Bryant University.
Casey is someone you may be familiar with, as he enjoyed a productive career with the Houston Texans from 2009-12, then with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013-14. He ended his career following a one-year stint with the Denver Broncos in 2015.
For his career, Casey hauled in 72 catches for 842 yards and six scores.
Since then, Casey has been the tight ends coach for the Cougars.
As for Martin, he’s had coaching stints at Union (NY) College, Bryant University, and was even an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins from 2014-15, which means he coached briefly along Taylor when he was also in Miami.
Martin spent the 2013 season as the offensive line/run game coordinator at Wagner College and the 2012 season as the running backs coach at Princeton University.
