The Bengals are re-signing cornerback Darqueze Dennard.
It is a somewhat surprising move considering the team also signed B.W. Webb this offseason and that Dennard had even visited a team like the Chiefs who were desperate for cornerbacks. Apparently, he didn’t find exactly what he was looking for out there, so it makes sense for both sides to come back together.
How are the fans and analysts reacting to the signing?
The #Bengals are re-signing CB Darqueze Dennard, source said. Done deal.

Wonder if Dennard told his agent to make sure to get it done before Sparty tips off at 2:45.

Good. Now extend Tyler Boyd. https://t.co/mFNzDRl4CX

Nice to see Darqueze Dennard back with the Bengals. He apparently had a skewed perception of his value as a free agent. But, this is likely the best choice for him in returning to Cincy.

Curious as to the terms of the Dennard deal. Glad to have Quez back in the fold. What was the rush, again, to sign Webb last week? Webb played on an MSB deal last season. Why not “wait out” Dennard (with D. Phillips on the roster) instead of rushing to sign Webb? https://t.co/bFk5Q1OP3R

I like Dennard and all. But if it’s only a one year deal then I don’t really see the point....

The front office get a lot of stick, and often, but they played the Dennard situation just about perfectly

Bengals always win when a player is overestimating their value, they always bet the under https://t.co/0iEiyOen4u

I’m interested to find out how much the Bengals original offer went up or down based on the market

Re-signing Darqueze Dennard will put the Bengals in the top 10 for 2019 positional spending at CB.

For those looking on the bright side... and the not so bright:
I think we are down to LB, DL or QB for pick 11, guys.

Why I don't love Dennard on the outside: Long speed, agility and ball skills. I don't want him isolated without help. pic.twitter.com/Wler1Zot6M

Don’t expect this to be the end for any veterans either:
Dre Kirkpatrick ranked first out of 131 qualifying cornerbacks in reception percentage against last season at 44 percent. https://t.co/6kXk0E7Dk3

At least we can say that means the Bengals won’t fall back into old trends
I never say never, especially considering this team's history with that choice. But, yes, it looks especially unlikely now. https://t.co/PeMQ0VWHEm
