For the first time in A.J. Green’s NFL career, he’ll have a head coach not named Marvin Lewis.
The Pro Bowl receiver and all-time Bengals great is entering his ninth season in the Queen City, and he’s eager to get things started under new head coach Zac Taylor, who hopes to revitalize a team coming off three straight losing seasons.
With the start of offseason workouts here, Green spoke with reporters about being back to work with his teammates. the new coaching staff, and what he hopes to accomplish in 2019.

“Just watching the offense, just watching some of the Rams’ highlights, and their playbook made it very exciting,” Green said Tuesday. “It’s my first time being with an offensive-minded coach. Just him being the head coach, being in the meeting rooms going through everything, all the offensive plans, so it was very exciting for me.”
Green is still recovering from his toe injury, but it’s good to see him back in the building and excited for next season, which can’t get here soon enough.
