The NFL Draft is now just the week away, and the Bengals are still hosting prospects for pre-draft visits.
The latest is Georgia Tech linebacker/defensive end Anree Saint-Amour, according to Walter Football.
Because teams are only permitted 30 pre-draft visits, you have to think Armour is someone Cincinnati is taking a hard look at in the upcoming draft, though he’s not a guy you’ve probably heard of in the pre-draft process. NFL draft expert Dane Brugler has Saint-Amour ranked 55th among edge rushers and is not among Brugler’s top 300 prospects.
Saint-Amour certainly had good college production while playing in a Power 5 league. He racked up 12 tackles for loss, four sacks, three forced fumbles and 47 total tackles this past season.
But the 6-3, 244-pound Saint-Amour is a tweener that won’t be a great fit in 4-3 defenses right away, though he could be used in a similar way the Bengals use undersized pass-rusher Carl Lawson.
Or, perhaps the Bengals think he can transition to being a strongside linebacker in the NFL.
