The 2019 schedule just dropped, and fans around the Queen City want to know how many primetime games the Bengals have.
Fortunately, they only have one.
Unfortunately, it’s on Monday night, which is historically the worst night for the Bengals.
The Bengals will play the Steelers in Pittsburgh on September 30th for Monday Night Football.
The last time the Bengals were featured on MNF was Week 13, 2017. It was in Cincinnati against none other than the Steelers, and it was pretty eventful. The Bengals blew a 17-0 halftime lead, Ryan Shazier suffered his notorious injury, Le’Veon Bell stiff-armed Dre Kirkpatrick into another dimension, and JuJu Smith-Schuster knocked Vontaze Burfict unconscious. The Bengals ended up losing that game 23-20.
The Bengals have not beaten the Steelers since the 2015 regular season, which was also the last time Cincinnati won in Pittsburgh.
As lopsided as the rivalry has been in recent years, this will be a major game for Zac Taylor, as it will be his first game in the rivalry. Finding more success against Pittsburgh is critical to the Bengals getting back to their winning ways. A win here could really push this franchise in the direction it wants to be in.
Hopefully, this game coming up will be much cleaner than the last one. The odds are pretty good since Burfict will not be suiting up in this game.
