The Bengals have spent all of their draft picks. The 2019 NFL Draft is officially over for Cincinnati, but it was quite a polarizing day for fans.
The Bengals traded up twice on the day, which is the first time they’ve done that in a single draft since Mike Brown Jr. took over the team. Here are some reactions to each pick, the coaches talking about them and some highlights.
Quarterback Ryan Finley (Round 4)
QB Ryan Finley was the target. Callahan saying “he checked all the boxes for me.” Bringing him in for a visit was important for Callahan and the offensive staff. #Bengals

OC Brian Callahan wanted to make something perfectly clear that relates to the draft of QB Ryan Finley and incumbent QB Andy Dalton. @wcpo #BengalsDraft pic.twitter.com/GEcw3TImlE

Joint presser ends.
— Jay Morrison (@JayMorrisonATH) April 27, 2019
Anarumo jokes: Just for the record, I'm shocked there were more questions about the QB than the D tackle.
Eason laughs: That's messed up, guys#Bengals
Callahan said the staff didn’t necessarily go home last night knowing they would trade up to get Finley but he was someone they had targeted so they decided not to sit back and wait for him. #Bengals
— Laurel Pfahler (@LaurelPfahler) April 27, 2019
OC Brian Callahan opens up with this: "Andy Dalton is our starting quarterback. That has not changed. That will not change. We think very highly of Andy. We think competition is good. It will be good for the position and the backup spot for sure."
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) April 27, 2019
Just spoke with Germaine Pratt who likes the pick of his former teammate and told me the #Bengals are getting a competitor in QB Ryan Finley. Said he’s a natural leader and is looking forward to having him in Cincinnati.
— Marisa Contipelli (@BengalsMarisa) April 27, 2019
i don't hate finley as a long-term backup
— john sheeran (@John__Sheeran) April 27, 2019
i don't like trading up for him
More on Ryan Finley:
— Dadio Makdook (@dadiodefacto) April 27, 2019
- only top QB Bengals had in for a visit, they love him
- he "blew the doors off"
- coaches taught him protection, and he taught it back to them
This is a solid 4th round pick, folks. https://t.co/Ah6OyzldvL
Ryan Finley's age (24) was the biggest analytical red flag I had on him. Otherwise, he was productive enough to pass and had the experience the Bengals like (3,000 snaps).
— JG (@JoeGoodberry) April 27, 2019
He makes a few throws every game that are nice, but makes his mistakes too. Average talent. Decent deep.
This franchise is pathetic. Totally ok with being middle of the pack.

Defensive tackle Renell Wren (Round 4)
I like it. Good pick! https://t.co/fCDxtndPav
— Tim Krumrie (@timkrumrie) April 27, 2019
ASU's DL at it again this time #95 6'5 297 Renell Wren tossing MSU's center pic.twitter.com/ND8jZxXqZS
— Kyle (@marblekyle) September 9, 2018
Eason said it’s to be determined where Wren will line up, but he moves well, is versatile and they’ll put him where he best fits this team. #Bengals
— Marisa Contipelli (@BengalsMarisa) April 27, 2019
Looks like Wren would pair well with Atkins. Has size and strength to compliment Atkins’ technical skills
— Nick Manchester (@NickManchester9) April 27, 2019
.@Renell_Wren struggled to earn playing time starting only 1 game his first 3 seasons before coming on as a redshirt Senior with 6 Tackles for a loss/no gain in 13 starts in 2018. He has a lot of tools because of his size (6’5” 318lbs). @Bengals will place him next to Atkins pic.twitter.com/CGu6MYQA0D
— Mike Tannenbaum (@RealTannenbaum) April 27, 2019
Renell Wren (@Renell_Wren) wins this rep with quality burst off the line. His first step covers a lot of ground, illustrates powerful pop through the hands and stacks/shed the OC to get in the backfield for the TFL with company. pic.twitter.com/K1OjYCpZv6

Eason: I call him Mt. Wren. He has a huge NFL upside.
— Jay Morrison (@JayMorrisonATH) April 27, 2019
This iDL class is not deep with athleticism, yet there is one standout still on the board on Day 3: Renell Wren out of Arizona State.
— Josh Norris (@JoshNorris) April 27, 2019
77th percentile, won at 1T and 3T. His first two steps are crazy, or he can win when engaged https://t.co/BxWMNCkTiB pic.twitter.com/c7zIjUPtmB
Renell Wren is a nice pick in the fourth round. High upside player with excellent good size and speed. Good iDL pick for the Bengals.
— Andre Perrotta (@andreperrotta13) April 27, 2019
Guard Michael Jordan (Round 4)
that's potentially boling's replacement
— john sheeran (@John__Sheeran) April 27, 2019
Got lots of tweets from people wanting Michael Jordan to the Bengals... Now are people satisfied? Or still mad?
— Rebecca Toback (@Rebecca_Toback) April 27, 2019
Bengals go after @b_price53’s replacement at Ohio State. Can play any position on the line and was a 3-year starter. Great depth pick
— Nick Manchester (@NickManchester9) April 27, 2019
New Bengals OG/C Michael Jordan was the 14th-ranked interior OLineman on our draft board. #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/o33G4cN5mp

Michael Jordan I Love it!!! Welcome big fella!

Watching film on Ohio State's LT - Jamarco Jones. Still amazed at how talented their LG - Michael Jordan is. Gets to 2nd level + square = $ pic.twitter.com/ftvgjgMIDp
— Russell Brown (@RussNFLDraft) October 13, 2017
Michael Jordan (LG 73) from Ohio State is really solid in pass protection by using his massive 6’7 frame but his run blocking on this play is extraordinary. B1G Championship game. Just like MJ, this Michael Jordan made a big play when it mattered most #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/7Wr2UCkxR1
— Mountain Top Scouting (@MTScouting) August 6, 2018
#Bengals OC on Michael Jordan: Love his positional versatility. Can play all interior spots.
— Joe Danneman (@FOX19Joe) April 27, 2019
Michael Jordan was born in Fairfield during the kickoff to Super Bowl 32. (Apologies for wrong SB earlier).
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) April 27, 2019
Can play guard or center and in a pinch, has the length to get you out of a game at tackle. Jim Turner said "I'm in love with this pick." #Bengals https://t.co/BIYXVkgBCE
— Laurel Pfahler (@LaurelPfahler) April 27, 2019
Michael Jordan was listed as a center, which he played as a junior in 2018, but he spent his first two seasons at Ohio State at guard.
— Katherine Terrell (@Kat_Terrell) April 27, 2019
Michael Jordan's athletic web. He doesn't have a good comparable at IOL because he's tall (6'6") and long (34.25"). pic.twitter.com/RDdzGxKjVU

One takeaway from Taylor's first six picks: Big people. No one has the knock of being too small

Bengals trading up twice in Round 4
Can I just say that the Bengals are identifying guys they want and using their extra picks to go up and get them???
— Matt Minich (@CoachMinich) April 27, 2019

— Geoff Hobson (@GeoffHobsonCin) April 27, 2019
Running back Trayveon Williams (Round 6)
#Bengals select former Texas A&M running back Trayveon Williams. He is reunited with his former OL coach Jim Turner.
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) April 27, 2019
RB Trayveon Williams had a solid 2018 season for the Aggies. Was a first-team All-SEC and led the conference in rushing. He had 1,760 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns on the season. Ran a 4.51 at the combine. #Bengals https://t.co/8OUJ4zmnsq
— Marisa Contipelli (@BengalsMarisa) April 27, 2019
Traveyon Williams is a nice player. I like it. Team needed a third RB.
— Anthony Cosenza (@CJAnthonyCUI) April 27, 2019
even ignoring the off-field stuff, that's 10X better than picking walton in the 4th last year

Trayveon Williams to Cincinnati is strong. Could come in and replace Giovani Bernard as a good change of pace and passing down back.

at 21 years of age, williams accounted for roughly 33% of texas a&m's offense in 2018.
— john sheeran (@John__Sheeran) April 27, 2019
draftable players start becoming rare in the 6th round. one of their best picks.
Linebacker Deshaun Davis and running back Rodney Anderson (Back-to-back Round 6)
Usually carry 4 RBs. Anderson could've been a high pick if healthy. https://t.co/10zAdgArWU
— JG (@JoeGoodberry) April 27, 2019
Are Bengals fans flipping out about no WR yet? pic.twitter.com/mr1X9FUxTU
— Matt Minich (@CoachMinich) April 27, 2019
#Bengals final 2 picks of the 6th round:
— Jeremy Rauch (@FOX19Jeremy) April 27, 2019
Auburn LB Deshaun Davis
*Described as high football IQ guy. Solid tackler. Vocal leader.
Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson
*Has some injury history, drawn comparisons to Steven Ridley@fox19
Bengals just got a runner who many think is the best back in the class in Rodney Anderson. Injuries are a very real concern, though.

Defensive back Jordan Brown (Final pick)
Really good pick at this point in the draft.
— ccm_bearcat (@ccm_bearcat) April 27, 2019
Jordan Brown, Bengals last pick, another good choice. 2018 team captain, a running theme with many of their picks this weekend.
