It was far from a certainty that cornerback Darqueze Dennard would be returning to Cincinnati to play football for the Bengals this year. Whether or not he’d be back playing in Paul Brown Stadium eight times a year, more important work of his was unfinished. Until now.
For the past 18 months, Dennard and his foundation, Dennard Difference, have fronted the construction of a Cheviot, Ohio home. On Wednesday, project Build a Place to Call Home was complete and the house was revealed to the needed family.
With everything from completely a re-designed interior to brand new beds, the family of nine children finally has a permanent living situation thanks to Dennard.
“A lot of people have helped me be the person I am today, and I know the type of effect it had on me becoming the person I am,” Dennard said.
Investing in real estate is nothing new for Dennard. Back when he was drafted in 2014, he bought a house for his own family.
”They know the feeling, my sisters know the feeling, my family knows the feeling, and I know how it is to not have a house,” explained Dennard. “I’m a living testimony that anything you want in life is possible.”
Yes you are Dennard. Yes you are.
