EA Sports has released official Madden 20 ratings.
With a handful of players rated a 99 overall that include Bobby Wagner, Khalil Mack, Deandre Hopkins and Aaron Donald, the Bengals closest player to that list is Geno Atkins, who tops the team at 91 with a 98 awareness and a 90 strength.
A.J. Green comes in second, ranking as the team’s best offensive player.
Those two are clearly the roster’s top players.
No. 3 will shock you. Yes, as you may have guessed by the opening statement.
It’s tight end Tyler Eifert.
There’s no reason to hate Eifert being an 88, but he certainly hasn’t earned his rating, playing in just two games last season. If he can maintain his health, this could easily be the correct rating.
Eifert is the fifth overall tight end and has played just 14 games over the past four seasons with three of his six professional seasons combining to total under ten games played. However, we’ll take it!
Tied with Eifert is running back Joe Mixon at an 88. Williams Jackson at 83, Tyler Boyd at 83, Carlos Dunlap at 82, Jessie Bates III at 81, Carl Lawson at 81 and Andy Dalton at 80 round the Bengals at that are rated at or above an 80.
All the way down at 64 is the recently re-signed Bobby Hart. It’s a fair rating for Hart, who has a speed of 51 and agility of 52. It is, however, ironic that the Bengals opted to give a three-year, $21 million contract to a player not even a 65.
That being said, EA Sports, overall, did a solid job with the Bengals, rating most of them fairly. The only real sleeper is Boyd at just 83 after recording his first 1,000-yard season. Besides his ratings, hats off to a terrific job.
