The Bengals have made it into the NFL Top 100 Players of 2019.
Pro Bowl defensive tackle Geno Atkins checked in at 79th overall during Wednesday’s edition of the show. The segment included commentary from former Bengals offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth, running back Joe Mixon, safety Jessie Bates, and current Browns offensive lineman Joel Bitonio.
Atkins, who just finished his ninth NFL season, appeared in all 16 games in 2017 and finished with 45 total tackles and 10 sacks. It was the fifth time in his career in which he recorded nine-plus sacks in a season.
This is the fourth-straight year in which Atkins has made the annual ranking of the NFL’s top players by the players after coming in at No. 63 in 2018. He came in at 68th overall in 2017 and 29th in 2016 after failing to make it in 2015. Atkins was voted 48th in 2013.
At age 31, Atkins only has so many great years left in him, but expect him to continue playing at a high level this upcoming season.
