The Bengals are one of the most unpopular teams around the NFL in many respects, and uniforms are no exceptions.
The Bengals’ black and orange have been much maligned on the internet for many reasons, like the white panel down the side of the shirts, the tiger stripes on the side of the pants, and the strange pattern on the sleeves.
All in all, it looks like whoever designed these uniforms tried too hard to make them resemble a bengal tiger.
Paul Lukas of Sports Illustrated thinks the Bengals jerseys are so bad, he invented the word Bengalian to describe bad uniforms.
Lukas is clear that he never actually uses the word Bengalian, but only uses near-Bengalian because no other uniforms could possibly be as bad.
With the Bengals uniforms in such a desperate need of a redesign, Lukas decided to issue a “Uni Watch Challenge.”
If you think you can design a better Bengals uniform, Lukas wants you to send him your ideas.
Not only can you redesign the jerseys for this challenge, but also the team’s primary logo, secondary logo, and field design. You can do as much as you want, as long as you at least send in the primary logo, along with full home and away uniforms.
You can create your designs digitally or manually and email them to Uni Watch HQ.
If you want to make your favorite franchise look less like an embarrassment by upgrading the uniforms, you can read about the contest here and read the official rules here.
