A new season of Bengals football is almost here, and with it comes the return of FanPulse.

For a refresher, FanPulse is a polling service that will pull together the insights of the most plugged-in Bengals fans. You can still sign up to join other knowledgeable fans (including some Cincy Jungle writers) by going here.

With free agency, the NFL Draft, offseason workouts, and a preseason game under the Bengals’ belts, we thought this would be a good time to gauge the confidence of Who Dey nation.

Here is a look at the first confidence poll of 2019 for Bengals fans:

It’s pretty clear that confidence in the team reached its peak following what was widely viewed as a successful draft.

Unfortunately, the Bengals’ first-round pick, Jonah Williams, suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. That, combined with Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green suffering an ankle injury that will likely cost him multiple games, has shaken fans’ confidence just a bit.

There may also be some fans who were unprimpssed with the Bengals’ preseason debut against the Chiefs. The first-team offense certainly looked promising, but pretty much every defensive lineup struggled to slow down the Chiefs en route to a 38-17 defeat.

Here’s to hoping for a great showing tonight in Washington that gives fans a nice shot of confidence heading into the new season.
