Geoff Hobson says it’s believed to be a non-serious tweak that will keep Kirkpatrick out. Hopefully it’s a similar situation to William Jackson, who was a late scratch in the first preseason game due to a ‘tweak’ suffered in practice.
Offensive guard Christian Westerman is also a late scratch for unknown reasons. He’s in a tight battle for a starting spot at left guard, so missing this game will definitely hurt his case, and that’s not even taking into account how significant this unknown injury may be.
You’ll notice Tyler Eifert is not on this list, which would suggest he’ll make his preseason debut. It would be the first live game action for Eifert since he suffered a major ankle injury in Week 4 of the 2018 season at Atlanta.
