The Bengals are going to be a little short on quarterbacks and wide receivers tonight, potentially because of one man’s absence.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel headlines the list of Bengals not expected to play tonight. He and other notable players such as Dre Kirkpatrick, Cordy Glenn and Drew Sample will miss their first preseason contest this month.

Kirkpatrick, Glenn and Sample all did not practice this week, so them being inactive tonight is no surprise. Driskel is reportedly dealing with a hamstring issue and cannot go tonight. In his place will be undrafted rookie Jake Dolegala, who’s been the fourth-string quarterback all offseason.

With Kirkpatrick out this week along with Darqueze Dennard and KeiVarae Russell still nursing injuries as well, expect to see a ton of Darius Phillips, Davontae Harris and Tony Lippett on the boundary while B.W. Webb and Tony McRae handle slot duties.

Glenn’s replacement at left tackle will be Andre Smith, who has been practicing there since Glenn has been in the concussion protocol. Smith will be playing next to Michael Jordan, who is starting at left guard for the second week in a row.

Christian Westerman is also listed as inactive tonight as he only just rejoined the team yesterday after he was placed on the exempt list this past week. Westerman may end up playing in next week’s preseason finale against the Colts.
