Baker Mayfield comes back down to earth in Tampa Bay

The third preseason game is considered the dress rehearsal for the regular season. The Cleveland Browns played their third game against the Buccaneers in Tampa on Friday night (August 23). Without the services of Jarvis Landry, David Njoku and OBJ, media darling Baker Mayfield played the entire first half, throwing for a paltry 72 yards on 10/26 passing with 1 INT and a QB rating of 30.6. According to some media pundits, the Cleveland Browns are the team to beat in the AFC and will most definitely win the North, hands down. The Bengals are poised to finish in last place in the division, according to these clairvoyants. While we mustn't read too much into Mayfield's performance at Raymond James Stadium, it did demonstrate that he is not the invincible QB that Browns fandom and his bandwagon fans in Cincy Jungle are making him out to be. That above average Buccaneers defense proved that again last night by bringing him back down to earth.
