The Bengals are parting ways with another young linebacker. The team has waived sixth-round pick Deshaun Davis, per Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Can confirm that the Bengals have released sixth-round pick LB Deshaun Davis.

Davis is a likely candidate to end up on the Bengals’ practice squad, so this could be a short separation for both sides.
Viewed as a developmental player coming out of Auburn, it’s not too surprising to see the Bengals take what will most likely be the long-term approach in developing Davis. He could be an injury or two away from being called up to the 53-man roster once the season actually begins.
Cincinnati released former third round pick Malik Jefferson earlier today, which only leaves Nick Vigil, Preston Brown, Jordan Evans, Hardy Nickerson and Noah Dawkins on the current. Those last two are also very much on the bubble as well.
The Bengals will have to hope another team doesn’t try to snatch Davis up if they want to try and add him to their practice squad. Davis finished the preseason with 15 combined tackles and a sack, so there is a chance someone could try and poach him.
