The Cincinnati Bengals’ first preseason game is almost here. This opening to the 2019 season is different then recent years as it is our first chance to see what a team led by head coach Zac Taylor will look like.
Taylor was formerly on the Rams staff as a positional coach under Sean McVay. Los Angeles has been one of the teams that has been blazing a new path for high powered offenses in the NFL, and fans are hoping Taylor can bring even a tiny bit of that success to Cincinnati.
The reality of it being the first preseason game is hard to ignore though. Don’t expect to see a lot of big name players for this game, and if you do they probably won’t be out there for long. This is more of a game for players competing for spots on the roster and trying to climb the depth chart.
It is still actual football with pads on against another team, so it is hard to be too upset since we haven’t see the Bengals play in months.
