The Bengals are still missing some key players entering their Week 2 matchup with the 49ers.
Of course, A.J. Green won’t play this week while recovering from his ankle injury, but he did take a big step in his rehab today as he shed his walking boot. It still looks like we’re 2-3 weeks away from Green making his 2019 debut.
As for Joe Mixon, he’s still day-to-day with his ankle injury and did not practice today. The Bengals are hopeful he’ll be able to go Sunday, but it’s iffy at best for the time being.
Cordy Glenn remains sidelined with his concussion, though he’s been working on the rehab field, so there’s a chance he’ll return this week.
Several players battling minor injuries were limited today, including Jessie Bates, who injured his wrist vs. the Seahawks but still played the entire game.
As for the 49es, they won’t have starting running back Tevin Coleman, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers. That means Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert will get the majority of snaps this Sunday.
Rookie defensive end Nick Bosa continues to be hindered by a high ankle sprain that forced him to miss the entire preseason. He played in Sunday’s win over Tampa Bay but missed practice today.
Wide receiver Trent Taylor, who missed Week 1 with a foot injury suffered in the preseason, did not practice today. The same is true with Jalen Hurd (back), which means the 49ers could be down two receivers for the second-straight week against a stout Bengals secondary.
