Bengals re-sign John Jerry and place O’Shea Dugas on IR

The Bengals also announced the addition of Wyatt Miller to the practice squad.

New York Giants v Cincinnati Bengals

One day after announcing their 53-man roster and practice squad, the Cincinnati Bengals are already making more moves.

On Monday, the team re-signed offensive guard John Jerry, placed offensive tackle O’Shea Dugas on the injured reserve list, and signed free agent offensive tackle Wyatt Miller to the practice squad.

Jerry, who measures in at 6-5 and 340 pounds, is a ninth-year player who signed with the Bengals as a free agent on June 10. He had been released by the Bengals on Saturday, but because he’s a vested veteran, he didn’t go on waivers.

That’s why the Bengals cut him briefly while having every intention to re-sign him once Dugas was placed on IR today, which gives Cincinnati the option to use the IR-return designation in eight weeks.

Dugas, a rookie who signed with the team this year as a college free agent out of Louisiana Tech University, suffered a knee injury in preseason.

Miller, who weights in at 6-6 and 302 pounds, is a rookie out of the University of Central Florida who signed with the New York Jets as a college free agent on May 10 and was waived by the Jets on Saturday.
