UPDATE
Williams has returned to the game, so it looks like he’s ok.
Not a good start for the Bengals, as safety Shawn Williams was knocked out of the game.
Williams actually exited the game briefly in the first quarter, as was helping escort Bills wide receiver John Brown out of bounds along the sideline. After the two players reached the sideline, it appeared Williams held onto Brown to keep him from falling, and Brown took exception to that with a shove back. Williams instantly went to the ground, which makes you think the hit was near the neck area or it knocked the wind out of him.
But Williams would return to the game, only to re-exit later as he was attempting to make a tackle and had his head hit the ground hard, so it looks like it could be a head injury.
Williams was a part of the Bengals defense looking a little closer to its Week 1 self. His absence was instantly felt as the Bills hit a big play, and then his replacement, Clayton Fejedelem was called for grabbing the helmet, which gave the Bills a first and goal.
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
