Bengals vs. Steelers injury report: Cordy Glenn limited for first time

The Bengals are one step closer to getting their left tackle back.

Cincinnati Bengals v Cleveland Browns

The Bengals gained an extra day off this week in preparation for their lone primetime game of the season this upcoming Monday night against the Steelers. With how extensive their injury report remains to be, they definitely needed it.

The biggest news is that left tackle Cordy Glenn was limited in practice today, working with a helmet on for the first time in roughly six weeks. Glenn has been in the concussion protocol since Week 3 of the preseason, and this is the biggest step forward he’s taken since he first reported the concussion back in August.

Along with Glenn, Shawn Williams (back) and B.W. Webb (forearm) were also limited. Head coach Zac Taylor said during his press conference today that he expects Webb to play on Monday. Hopefully he and Williams return to practice in full later this week.

Michael Jordan (knee) did practice in full today after being limited last week and missing the Bills game. Despite this, Billy Price took the first-team reps at left guard, and it’s likely he’ll maintain his starting spot there unless something drastic happens before Monday.

Nine players for Cincinnati did not practice today, including A.J. Green, who is not going to practice this week anyways. Tyler Eifert also got his customary day of rest today. The rest of the list is mainly defensive linemen.

Carlos Dunlap, Carl Lawson (hamstring), Kerry Wynn (concussion), Sam Hubbard (ankle) and Ryan Glasgow (thigh) were all out today along the front four. Lawson, Wynn and Glasgow missed last week’s game, though Lawson was considered a game-time decision who experienced a setback before kickoff. It appears he’s not quite ready to comeback.

Hubbard was seen in a walking boot earlier this week, but he wasn’t wearing it today while on a practice field bike next to Dunlap and Andre Smith (hamstring), who also did not practice.

If neither Smith not Glenn can go, John Jerry figures to be the starting left tackle on Monday.

Darius Phillips was listed as a non-participant, but he was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a knee injury before practice began.

Fortunately for the Bengals, the Steelers are also pretty banged up. Notable defenders Joe Haden (shoulder), Anthony Chickillo (foot) and Vince Williams (hamstring) did not practice today. Maurkice Pouncey and Mark Barron were given days off.

Pittsburgh traded for tight end Nick Vannett because Xavier Grimble had to be placed on I.R., as well as to compensate for Vance McDonald’s shoulder injury. McDonald also did not practice today, along with fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee).
