After three weeks of Joe Burrow getting abused, Bengals fans will be happy to know that he might get a break this Sunday.
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive line no longer features Calais Campbell, Malik Jackson or Marcell Dareus.
While they do have second-year defensive end Josh Allen, who had 10.5 sacks his rookie year, the talent drops off after that, with Abry Jones and Taven Bryan having little impact. According to James Johnson, one of two hosts of the Bleav in Jaguars podcast, the team is really struggling on the interior of their defensive line. Along with his co-host, Phil Smith, he previewed the upcoming matchup with us.
Considering that the Jaguars only have 3 sacks on the year, this might be the week that Burrow actually gets enough time to throw the ball without getting abused. And while the rookie QB has put up great numbers so far, they could be even better in Week 4, especially his completion percentage.
Over the last two weeks, the Jaguars have allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Tannehill to go a combined 36/44 (82%) with 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Jacksonville had just 1 sack in the period.
