A double whammy.

The Bengals are holding their breath after watching wide receiver A.J. Green and defensive tackle D.J. Reader go down with injuries.

Reader’s injury came in the third quarter of Cincinnati’s Week 5 matchup with the Ravens as he tried to make a tackle on a run play, then went down holding his left knee in obvious pain.

After being down on the field for several minutes, the cart was brought out and took Reader to the locker room for further testing. He was quickly ruled out with what the team called a left knee injury.

As for Green, it’s unclear when he was hurt, but it happened sometime early in the third quarter. In the middle of the quarter, the team announced he was doubtful to return to the game due to a hamstring injury. He’s been seen sitting on the bench with no help from trainers, so it doesn’t appear to be too serious.

We will update this post if any more details come out on either injured Bengal.
