We’re less than 90 minutes from kickoff, which means the Cincinnati Bengals have released their inactive players list for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Here are the seven players the Bengals will be without today:
- CB Mackensie Alexander
- DL Geno Atkins
- WR John Ross
- K Austin Siebert
- OL Keaton Sutherland
- RB Trayveon Williams
- LB Logan Wilson
Atkins remains the most notable player out for the Bengals, but Alexander’s starting position will now have to be filled as well. CB Torry McTyer was elevated from the practice squad to ensure the Bengals having five healthy cornerbacks, though McTyer won’t start in Alexander’s place. Darius Phillips will move inside, which means LeShaun Sims will play for Phillips on the outside.
Bengals notes:
— Tyler Dragon (@TheTylerDragon) October 4, 2020
- Joe Mixon (chest) will play today.
- Alex Redmond is expected to start at right guard
- Christian Covington is replacing Geno Atkins (shoulder) at DT
- Darius Phillips is starting at slot corner today
Wilson’s absence will free up a good 20 snaps for another player as well. This could mean rookie LB Markus Bailey gets his chance to play for the first time this season, or maybe Shawn Williams makes his official return to the defense with the unit utilizing more big nickel packages with three safeties.
Sutherland is the surprise healthy scratch of the week. He was signed from the practice squad earlier this week, but will not get a chance to play today.
Here are the inactives for the Jaguars:
- CB Luq Barcoo
- DT Daniel Ekuale
- K Stephen Hauschka
- OL Brandon Linder
- QB Jake Luton
- CB Josiah Scott
- WR Dede Westbrook
Linder (knee) was the only player declared out for this game on Friday. Hauschka (knee) was listed as questionable, but he will also not play.
Aldrick Rosas, who was elevated from the Jaguars’ practice squad this week, will handle the kicking duties for Jacksonville.
