As the weekend inches closer, the Cincinnati Bengals look like they’ll be out their starting running back and right tackle for another week.
Joe Mixon (foot) and Bobby Hart (knee) both did not practice on for the second-straight day on Thursday. Mixon is on track to miss three-straight games for the first time in his NFL career. Hart has also been a pillar of durability during his stint in Cincinnati and will likely miss his second-ever game with the Bengals.
Darius Phillips (groin) also did not practice along with Geno Atkins, who was absent again due to an undisclosed personal reason. It’s tough to predict if Atkins will return on Friday without knowing the details of his absence. Phillips was injured during the team’s Week 8 game against the Tennessee Titans.
Jonah Williams (stinger) is listed as being a limited participant but was reportedly in full pads during Thursday’s practice. Trey Hopkins and him should be ready to make their returns on Sunday.
LeShaun Sims (concussion) and John Ross III (foot) were both limited as both of their injuries popped up during Thursday’s practice. Ross was a likely healthy scratch for Sunday anyways, but Sims is likely to start in place of Phillips if Phillips can’t play. Sims’ concussion could make things dicey at the cornerback position.
The Steelers saw JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) make a full return to practice on Thursday along with five other players who missed Wednesday for non-injury reasons. Tyson Alualu (knee) was limited again and could potentially be a game-time decision.
